Pre-Treatment Advice

1-2 Weeks Before Your Appointment:

– Exfoliate & Hydrate – Gently exfoliate your lips with a sugar scrub and apply a hydrating lip balm daily to keep them soft.
– Stay Hydrated – Drink plenty of water to maintain healthy, plump lips.
– Avoid Excessive Sun Exposure – Sunburned or chapped lips cannot be tattooed.
– No Chemical Peels or Skin Treatments – Avoid retinol, AHA/BHA, or any strong skincare treatments near the lip area.

5-7 Days Before Your Appointment:
– Moisturize Regularly – Keep your lips hydrated with a non-petroleum-based lip balm.
– No Blood Thinners – Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and alcohol, as they can increase bleeding and affect pigment retention.
– Stop Using Lip Plumpers – Any products or treatments that cause irritation or swelling should be discontinued.

48 Hours Before Your Appointment:
– No Caffeine or Alcohol – These can thin the blood and lead to excessive bleeding during the procedure.
– Avoid Spicy & Salty Foods – These can cause irritation or dryness in the lips.

24 Hours Before Your Appointment:
– Stay Hydrated & Rest Well – Ensures your skin is in its best condition.
– No Smoking or Vaping – This can cause dehydration and affect healing.
– No Lipstick or Makeup on the Lips – Arrive with clean, bare lips.

Cold Sore Prevention (If Prone to Cold Sores):
– Start Taking Antiviral Medication – If you’ve ever had a cold sore, it’s recommended to take an antiviral (like Acyclovir or Valtrex) 2-3 days before and after the procedure to prevent an outbreak.
